Gastritis is very common disease associated with our digestive system. It can cause a twinge in our stomach because of abnormal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract.
What you should eat if you have gastritis
Gastritis can be caused by poor diet, growth of bacteria and imprudent consumption of alcohol. Some lucid changes in daily routine and diet can bring comfort from the pain associated with gastritis.
Just like fruits, there are some vegetables that are responsible for aggravating gastritis such as chilies, garlic, onions and tomatoes. On the other hand consumption of vegetables like cucumbers, carrots and lettuce can help in digestion and they can actually soothe the pain.
Consume products with Grains
The products such as seeds, bread and potato chips can increase the pain in gastritis. On the other hand, the consumption of oatmeal, rice, barley, pasta and noodles will not lead into gastritis. Three or four cups of dry cereal, six crackers, cereal or pasta properly cooked, one by two cup of rice can be consumed with gastritis.
Drink Milk Products
The intake of dairy products such a milk, cheese, yogurt is necessary for normal functioning of the body because of vitamin D and calcium they contain. However, they should be consumed with caution because excessive consumption can produce acids in the stomach. The 2 ounces consumption of cheese, 2 eggs or 8 ounces of skimmed milk can give you the desired vitamin D and calcium without producing acids in the stomach.
Unlike fruits, vegetables and dairy products, red and white meat can be well condoned with gastritis. The 3-ounce consumption of seafood, fish, meat and poultry each day can give the needed nutrition to the body, without increasing the pain. Boiling and roasting are the best methods in which they should be cooked.
Fruits can help you in getting rid of gastritis or sometimes they can actually increase the pain. The intake of fruits such as bananas, apples, grapes, melons, kiwi and pears can ease the pain because of antioxidants, minerals, fibers and phytochemicals they contain. And the fruits such as orange, berries, grapefruit and dry fruits can actually increase the pain.
Drink more Water
The fluid intake of around six to eight glasses can help against gastritis as it eases the congestion in the digestive system. Water, green-teas, herbal-teas, caffeine-free-tonics can be helpful if you have gastritis, but the intake of coffee, black tea and alcohol will increase the pain.
Irregular eating habits can lead to gastritis, try to avoid the foods that we mentioned in this post. Drink more water and milk, consume seafood, eat bananas and apples, and avoid eating onions and garlic.
